Bespoke Containers for ALMA - the largest astronomical project in existence pass the test

Earlier this week, Barum and Dewar's prototype bespoke satellite container for Rutherford Appleton Laboratories achieved resounding success when it was put to the test at their specialist testing facility in Cambridgeshire.

The bespoke satellite container was created by our expert CAD design team. Once approved the plans went off for manufacture ahead of the testing team.
Earlier this week Barum and Dewar's Production Control Manager Ron Laden headed up the trials with Rutherford Appleton Laboratories' Nigel Morris, from their space science and technology department.

The container was put through a series of tests to ensure it would be able to provide unrivalled protection against shock and vibration for the satellite during it's long transit to Chile.

The aluminium container fitted with sprung mounts passed the test with flying colours.
